MARSHALL'S GEM, LATE RUNS GIVE DUCKS SERIES WIN

Long Island takes two of three in York

(York, Penn., April 26, 2015) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 5-2 on Sunday night in the rubber game of a three-game series at Santander Stadium.

GAME AUDIO: Highlights from the Ducks' series-clinching victory

The Ducks scored first for the third consecutive game, as Cody Puckett connected for a RBI double in the first inning off Revolution starter Logan Williamson. It stayed that way until the top of the sixth when two more runs scored on a wild pitch by Ian Durham and a RBI single by Jon Griffin.

York pulled back to within a run at 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run home run to right by Eric Patterson. However, Long Island answered with a RBI single by Lew Ford in the eighth and a sacrifice fly by Bryan Sabatella in the ninth to put the game out of reach.

Marshall (1-0) earned the win, tossing five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out two. Williamson (0-1) suffered the loss after giving up a run on four hits with two strikeouts in five innings. Ryan Kussmaul earned his second save with a perfect ninth inning.

Ford and Evan Crawford led the Flock with two hits apiece, while Crawford scored twice.

Long Island continues their season opening road trip on Monday night when they open a four-game series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Regency Furniture Stadium. Right-hander Sergio Perez gets the start for the Ducks against Blue Crabs righty Brian Baker.
