YORK EDGES LONG ISLAND IN PITCHER'S DUEL

Ducks and Revs combine for just three runs and 12 hits

(York, Penn., Sept. 12, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 2-1 on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Santander Stadium.

GAME AUDIO: Fehlandt Lentini puts the Ducks in front

The Ducks grabbed the first run of the game in the third inning on a two-out RBI double to left field from Fehlandt Lentini off Revolution starter Jorge Martinez. York responded in the bottom of the inning with two runs to take the lead against Ducks starter Doug Arguello. A run-scoring error by Jan Vazquez and a RBI single by Johan Limonta did the damage.

That was all Martinez (10-8) needed to earn the win, as he tossed five innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out three. Arguello (1-2) suffered the loss, yielding two runs on four hits and four walks with three strikeouts in three innings. Mark Hendrickson picked up his eighth save of the year with a scoreless ninth inning.

Vazquez led the Flock offensively with two hits.

The Ducks wrap up their road schedule for the 2014 regular season on Sunday afternoon with the finale of a three-game set against the Revolution. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m. at Santander Stadium. Right-hander Bobby Blevins toes the rubber for the Ducks against Revolution righty Corey Thurman. Fans can follow all the action live on Long Island’s home for news, traffic and weather, 103.9-FM LI News Radio. The game can also be heard online by CLICKING HERE.
