The Ducks struck first in the bottom of the second inning on a two-out, two-run single to center field by Brendan Harris off Riversharks starter Pedro Liriano. It stayed that way until the sixth when Jose Julio-Ruiz’s run-scoring groundout off Duck starter Jared Lansford closed the gap to one.

However, Long Island responded in the bottom of the inning with a two-run home run off the bat of Fehlandt Lentini to extend their lead to 4-1. Adam Bailey’s mammoth solo homer to right in the seventh and Lentini’s RBI single in the eighth ballooned the advantage to five.

Lansford (8-4) earned the win, tossing seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out five. Liriano (1-10) suffered the loss, surrendering four runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts over six innings.

Bailey, Lew Ford and Jan Vazquez each had two hits to pace the Flock.
