Both sides were held scoreless until the fifth when Allan de San Miguel put the Blue Crabs on top with a RBI single off Ducks starter Fernando Hernandez. Jake Opitz doubled the lead to 2-0 in the sixth with a solo homer to right.

Long Island answered back with a run in the bottom of the sixth on Adam Bailey’s two-out RBI single to right off Blue Crabs starter Gabriel Hernandez. It stayed 2-1 until the bottom of the ninth when Jan Vazquez tied the game with a leadoff solo homer to right off Blue Crabs closer Jim Ed Warden.

The two teams exchanged zeroes until the bottom of the 12th. After hits by Joash Brodin and Randy Ruiz, Cody Puckett lined a walk-off RBI double over the head of Dave Sappelt in center to end the ballgame.

Neither starter factored into the decision.
