Alex Hudak opened the scoring in the top of the first with a two-run home run to right off Ducks starter John Brownell. Lew Ford answered with a RBI single off Camden starter Jay Voss in the bottom of the frame to trim the deficit to 2-1.

The Riversharks ballooned their lead to five with a four-run third inning, with a three-run double by Paddy Matera highlighting the inning. After a run-scoring error in the bottom of the inning cut the lead to 6-2, a two-run base hit by Matera in the fourth pushed the advantage up to six.

The Ducks fought their way back to within two when Ford launched an opposite field grand slam in the fourth. However a two-run sixth inning for the ‘Sharks put the game out of reach.

Voss did not factor into the decision, tossing four innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and two walks. Sean Toler (1-0) earned the win after pitching two scoreless innings, yielding one hit while striking out one. Brownell (1-3) suffered the loss, surrendering eight runs (six earned) on eight hits and five walks with four strikeouts in five innings.

Joash Brodin led the Flock with four hits, while Ford added three hits, five RBI and two runs.

The Ducks continue their homestand on Monday night when they open a four-game series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35. Right-hander Bobby Blevins will get the start for Long Island against Southern Maryland righty Brian Baker.
