DUCKS SHARK BITTEN IN TWINBILL OPENER

Camden holds on for 6-4 win over Long Island

(Central Islip, N.Y., May 17, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Camden Riversharks 6-4 on Saturday evening in game one of a single admission doubleheader at Bethpage Ballpark.

Camden struck first in the opening inning on a RBI single to left by Wilson Batista off Ducks starter Fernando Hernandez. The Ducks tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Adam Bailey reached on an infield single off Riversharks starter Scott Gorgen and Lew Ford scored on an error by Batista.

The ‘Sharks took the lead back in the second on a RBI single by Zack MacPhee and a two-run double off the bat of Jorge Cortes. A run-scoring single by Cortes in the fourth extended the advantage to 5-1.
