SONG INSPIRED BY 9-YEAR-OLD WITH CF RECORDED AT DUCKS GAME

Long Island Children’s Choir sings for Camryn Koke

(Central Islip, N.Y., May 3, 2014) – Prior to the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, the Long Island Ducks held a special pre-game event on the field, presented by Allied Physicians Group.

The Long Island Children’s Choir sang three songs to the fans in attendance at Bethpage Ballpark. The group ended with one final song, written by the Songs for Love Foundation, that was inspired by Camryn Koke. Camryn is a nine-year-old from Southold who has Cystic Fibrosis. Following the performance, Camryn threw out a ceremonial first pitch to Ducks manager Kevin Baez.

“This incredible gesture was such a surprise – and May is actually Cystic Fibrosis Month,” said Camryn’s mom Jen Koke. “To be invited to a Long Island Ducks game and have her song recorded live is simply just wonderful, and we can’t thank them enough.”

Performed along the third base line, the song was recorded live and will be sold on iTunes through the LIChildrensChoir.org website. In addition, lyrics were provided for fans on the DuckVision scoreboard to sing along. All proceeds from iTunes sales will go towards Camryn’s family.

The Long Island Children’s Choir brings kids from all across Long Island together to sing for worthy causes. Songs for Love is a nonprofit organization that works with dozens of songwriters across the country, customizing songs for children with major illnesses by weaving fun facts about the child into each song.
