Both teams traded zeroes until the fourth when Somerset put together a six-run frame. Two-run singles by Angel Sanchez and Aharon Eggleston along with a RBI single by Jonny Tucker highlighted the inning.

After another Patriot run in the fifth, Long Island responded with two runs in their half of the inning. Bryant Nelson’s two-run double to left cut the deficit to five, but that was as close as they would come.

Pats starter Graham Taylor (8-5) earned the win, tossing seven innings, yielding two unearned runs on seven hits while striking out seven. Ducks starter James Houser (8-3) took the loss, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings.

Josh Barfield and Kraig Binick led the Flock with two hits apiece.

The Ducks and Patriots continue their four-game set on Saturday night. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. A Ducks legend returns to the ballpark on Saturday night, as 2004 Atlantic League champion and "All-Time Team" Member Kimera Bartee will be in attendance. Kimera will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch and then will sign autographs and take pictures with fans on the main concourse behind home plate through the third inning. It's also Dick's Sporting Goods Saturdays at the ballpark! Ducks staffers will be handing out coupons for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more at Dick's Sporting Goods to fans as they exit the ballpark. Right-hander Bob Zimmermann toes the rubber for the Ducks against Patriots righty Erik Arnesen.

Tickets for the game and all Ducks regular season home games are now on sale. Fans can purchase their tickets by visiting the Bethpage Ballpark box office, calling 631-940-TIXX or by CLICKING HERE. Those unable to attend the game can follow all the action live on the radio home of the Ducks, 103.9-FM WRCN, and online, with streaming video and audio available on the Ducks official YouTube channel, youtube.com/ducksbaseball.
