Camden scored the first run of the game when Burt Reynolds scored on an error in the third inning. Long Island took the lead in the fifth when Josh Barfield hit an RBI single to center and Bill Hall drove in a run with a double to right. Camden tied the game at two in the seventh inning on a run-scoring passed ball.

It stayed tied until the top of the ninth inning when a Billy Rice RBI single gave the Riversharks a 3-2 lead. However, in the bottom of the ninth Barfield tied the game with an RBI single, and Joash Brodin scored on a wild pitch two batters later to win the game.

Neither starter factored in the decision. Camden starter Joey Williamson threw five innings, giving up two runs on six hits, and Long Island starter Dontrelle Willis allowed five hits and two runs (one earned) in eight innings of work. Jared Lansford (4-1) picked up the win despite allowing one run on two hits in one inning of work while Jon Velasquez (3-2) suffered the loss, letting up two runs on two hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Ralph Henriquez and Barfield led the Ducks with two hits, and Barfield drove in two runs for Long Island.
