Fans bid on game-worn patriotic Ducks jerseys
(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 3, 2013) - The Long Island Ducks capped off another successful Patriotic Jersey Auction on Saturday night during the Ducks' 8-6 waddle-off victory over the York Revolution. Fans were able to bid over the last month on the game-worn red, white and blue jerseys of their favorite Ducks players, which were sported by the Flock in their win over the Somerset Patriots on July 4 as well as their victory over the Revolution on Saturday, August 3 as part of "Military Appreciation Night."
Bids started at $75 and were raised in minimum $10 increments. Fans interested in bidding could do so by visiting the auction table located outside the Waddle In Shop during every Ducks home game or by calling the Ducks at 631-940-3825. The final bids were taken at the seventh inning stretch of the August 3 game against the York Revolution. Fans can see the winning bidders of this year's Patriotic Jersey Auction below.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the QuackerJack Foundation, the charitable arm of the Long Island Ducks. All donations are tax deductible.
