Bridgeport opened the scoring on a two-run home run by Alexis Gomez in the first inning. They would double their lead on a two-run double by Victor Diaz in the third inning. Long Island tried to rally but could not get on the scoreboard before the rain began to fall in the sixth inning, and the game was called shortly thereafter due to inclement weather.

Bluefish starter Hunter Jones (2-5) picked up the win, tossing five and two-third shutout innings, surrendering just three hits and one walk with five strikeouts. Long Island starter John Brownell suffered the loss, letting up four runs on six hits in six innings of work.

The Ducks begin a seven game road trip on Friday night when they open a three-game series against the Lancaster Barnstormers. Game time is 7:00 from Clipper Magazine Stadium. MLB veteran Dontrelle Willis toes the rubber for the Ducks while right hander Brian Grening gets the call for Lancaster.
