LONG ISLAND DEFEATED BY LANCASTER

Ducks wrap up road trip this Sunday afternoon

(Lancaster, Pa., June 17, 2017) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers in the middle game of a three-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium on Saturday night.

The Barnstormers (30-25) jumped on the board early when Blake Gailen hit a one-out home run in the bottom of the first off Dennis O’Grady. Later in the frame, K.C. Hobson added a two-run homer and Garrett Weber provided an RBI double to push the Lancaster lead to 4-0. Hobson would crack two home runs on the game for the Barnstormers.

The Ducks (27-28) loaded the bases in the third and eighth innings, but both times were not able to scratch across a run. Lancaster tacked on a run in the fifth, and four more in the sixth.

O’Grady (2-3) got the loss for the Ducks, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in five-plus innings of work. Rommie Lewis (3-5) got the win for the Barnstormers, tossing six scoreless innings, recording three strikeouts.

Elmer Reyes and Lew Ford led the Long Island offense with two hits each.
