– The Long Island Ducks defeated the New Britain Bees 3-2 on Thursday night in the finale of a three-game series at New Britain Stadium.

GAME VIDEO: Highlights from the sweep-clinching victory

Long Island scored all three of its runs in the second inning against Bees starter Anthony Marzi. RBI singles by Giovanny Alfonzo and Delta Cleary Jr., along with a two-out RBI double by Fehlandt Lentini, highlighted the inning.

Conor Bierfeldt put the Bees on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second with a leadoff solo home run to left field off of Ducks starter Rafael Perez. It stayed 3-1 until the bottom of the fifth when Michael Baca followed up an error with a two-out RBI single to close the gap to one.

New Britain put the tying run on base in each of its final four innings at the plate. However, they could not pull even with the Flock.

Perez (4-1) earned the win, pitching six innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out three. Marzi (3-4) took the loss, yielding three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk over five innings while striking out six. Chin-Hui Tsao collected his fifth save of the season with a scoreless ninth, striking out one.

Lentini and Alfonzo each had two hits and an RBI to pace the Flock offensively.

The Ducks return home on Friday night to begin a three-game set with the Bridgeport Bluefish. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Ducks T-Shirts, courtesy of Petro Home Services. It's also a Fowl Pole Friday at the Duck Pond, and if a select Ducks player hits a home run off of one of the foul poles during the game, one lucky fan will win $50,000. In addition, a Bluefish player will be selected as the Pizza Hut K-Man of the game. If that player strikes out, fans will receive a FREE 1-Topping Personal Pan Pizza at a participating Pizza Hut location. Right-hander John Brownell (4-0, 2.51) gets the start for the Ducks against Bluefish righty Cory Riordan (3-2, 3.65).
