The Revolution took an early 1-0 lead on a first-inning RBI single by Michael Burgess. Long Island pulled even in the second on Giovanny Alfonzo’s RBI single to left field off Revolution starter Steve Janas.

York took the lead back in the fourth on a two-run home run to left field from Bryan Pounds off Ducks starter Dennis O’Grady. A sacrifice fly to center by Elmer Reyes in the fifth trimmed the Ducks’ deficit to 3-2.

It stayed that way until the bottom of the ninth when Fehlandt Lentini doubled to center, was sacrificed to third base on a bunt and scored on an RBI single to right by Reyes, tying the game at three. The Revolution took the lead back for good in the 10th on a sacrifice fly to right off the bat of Travis Witherspoon.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Janas pitched six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks. O’Grady lasted six innings, yielding three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out four. Luke Westphal (1-1) picked up the win despite allowing a run on two hits and a walk in one inning of relief. Eric Gagne (0-2) took the loss, surrendering an unearned run and one walk with a strikeout in the 10th. Martin collected his first save with a scoreless bottom of the 10th.

Reyes and Cody Puckett each had two hits to pace the Flock.
