Dan Johnson gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single to right field off Revolution starter Matt Neil. Michael Burgess answered back for the Revs in the bottom of the first with a two-out three-run home run to right off Ducks starter Mark Blackmar.

Long Island closed to within 3-2 in the third on another RBI single to right by Johnson. However, two runs in the bottom of the frame pushed York’s lead to 5-2. An RBI single by Joel Guzman and a bases loaded walk to Keith Castillo did the damage.

Anthony Vega trimmed the deficit to 5-3 with a fourth inning solo homer to left-center, but another pair of runs for the Revolution in the fifth opened their lead to 7-3. Telvin Nash’s solo homer and Josh Wilson’s RBI single highlighted the scoring. Another solo homer by Nash in the eighth capped the scoring at 8-3.

Neil (2-0) earned the win, pitching five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five. Blackmar (4-2) suffered the loss, surrendering seven runs on 10 hits and two walks in five innings with five strikeouts.

Johnson, Fehlandt Lentini and Ruben Gotay each had two hits to pace the Flock.
