HOST A DUCK
Help join the team and host a Ducks player for the 2010 season
(Central Islip, N.Y., Jan. 12, 2010) – The Long Island Ducks are currently seeking community members that are interested in becoming host families for a Ducks player during the 2010 baseball season.
Hosting a player gives you the rare opportunity to get involved with the Long Island Ducks on a personal level, as one of the players will be an "adopted member of your family” during his time here on Long Island.
Often, many players become like an extended member of the families they live with, staying in touch with their host families for years to come. Year in and year out, hosting a player has been a positive experience for everyone involved.
You might wonder...what are the requirements for becoming a host family? We make it simple. If you can provide a private bedroom, and use of a bathroom, washer/dryer and kitchen for a Long Island Duck, you can be a host. Any other amenities that you are willing and able to provide will be greatly appreciated by your player.
This season, our host families will be part of "Host Family Day" at the ballpark, an event designed to show our appreciation for all you have done to help the Long Island Ducks organization. You will also be invited to other events throughout the baseball season as a gesture of our gratitude.

Through 10 seasons, the team has averaged 6,077 fans per game in their 6,002-seat park. For further information, visit www.liducks.com or call 631-940-DUCK.
