QJ VISITS CANCER WALK AND LITTLE LEAGUE AWARDS
Visits to Farmingdale and Lindenhurst make QJ a busy duck
(Farmingdale, N.Y., June 11, 2011) – Long Island Ducks mascot QuackerJack was quite the busy duck Saturday as he traveled to both Bethpage State Park for the CureSearch Children's Cancer Walk and Lindenhurst Town Hall for the Lindenhurst American Little League Awards Ceremony.
First, QuackerJack spent time with the CureSearch Children's Cancer Walk participants as they registered for the event and showed his support for the cause by donning a green bandanna on his wing. QJ even helped the runners get ready for the walk by leading everyone in some stretching exercises.
After that, it was on to Lindenhurst for QuackerJack as he partook in the festivities of the Lindenhurst American Little League Awards Ceremony. There, QJ said hello to all his fans and signed autographs for all who wished. He also helped the little leaguers in the field during the league’s home run derby.
Overall, QuackerJack had a very enjoyable day and was happy he was able to spend it with all his fans in Long Island.
