HOLIDAY OPENING AND TOY DRIVE DECEMBER 3
Ducks to kick off holiday season with annual toy drive and festivities
(Central Islip, N.Y., Nov. 16, 2011) – The Long Island Ducks announced today that the Waddle In Shop, the team’s official merchandise store, will open for holiday shopping on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10:00 a.m. From the 3rd through the 21st of the month, the shop will be open from Noon – 6:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays along with 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
The Dec. 3 holiday shopping kickoff will include visits from Ducks coaches and players, mascot QuackerJack and Santa Claus! The Waddle In Shop is the ONLY place to buy official Ducks merchandise, including brand new 2011 Liberty Division champions apparel. There’s something for everyone, so make sure you stop by!
In conjunction with the opening, the Ducks will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at Bethpage Ballpark between Dec. 3 and 21 during store hours for those spending the holidays in the hospital. The toys will be delivered by members of the Ducks and QuackerJack to the pediatric units at Stony Brook University Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, and North Shore LIJ/Southside Hospital. Pediatric patients range from newborn to 24 years of age. Hospitals have made the following suggestions for gifts based on the age of patients:
Newborn-12 Months: Rattles, stuffed animals, board books, bibs
