EMPIRE ANGEL JANET WALERSTEIN
(Central Islip, N.Y., June 13, 2010) – At Sunday’s game, Janet Walerstein was recognized as the second “Empire Angel” of the 2010 season. Janet received a plaque, hat, t-shirt, and threw out the ceremonial first pitch. As Executive Director of the Child Care Council of Suffolk, Janet has made the agency a model in New York State for Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies, assisting parents searching for child care to find appropriate options. Each year more than 10,000 children, parents and child care providers receive support and guidance from the Council. Janet is a visionary leader for Suffolk County and has a passion for her cause, fearlessly embracing the fight to see her vision come true. For that reason, and many more, Janet Walerstein is a local hero.
