Ducks present fourth Empire Angel award of season
(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 6, 2010) – At Friday’s game between the Long Island Ducks and the Lancaster Barnstormers, Jack Henry was recognized as the fourth “Empire Angel” of the 2010 season. Henry received a plaque, hat, t-shirt, and threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Jack is 64 years old, lives in Melville, and is currently employed by the Long Island Railroad. As an active member and Chairman of the Veterans Committee of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. Patricks Division, in
The Long Island Ducks have teamed up with Empire BlueCross BlueShield to present the "Empire Angels" program. This program has been designed to recognize those who give back to their community and are selfless in helping others. Those selected as the "Empire Angel" will receive four tickets to the game, be recognized during a pre-game on-field ceremony, and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Empire BlueCross BlueShield and the Ducks will honor their final "Empire Angel" at the Ducks’ home game on Labor Day, Monday, September 6th, when they battle the Bridgeport Bluefish at 6:35 P.M.
