DUCK TO CLASS UNDERWAY
TD Banks "Take A Duck to Class" quacks along
(Levittown, N.Y., January 11, 2010) – On Monday, the Long Island Ducks spent the afternoon with Kelly Domagala and all of her schoolmates at Stokes Elementary in Levittown. Kelly was the third of four winners in the TD Bank Take a Duck to Class Essay Contest and as part of her prize she received an assembly for the entire fourth grade with QuackerJack and Atlantic League MVP Ray Navarrete. Kelly was overwhelmed with attention as the entire fourth grade gave her a huge round of applause for winning them all the special day. Robert Bullock, Branch Manager of the local TD Bank in East Meadow presented Kelly with a Visa gift card to spend any way she (and her parents) see fit. When Mr. Bullock was done congratulating Kelly, QuackerJack jumped out from behind the stage curtain to surprise all of the students. After the cheers died down it was time for MVP Ray Navarrete to talk to the children about the importance of community and education in his life and career. When the questions were over, Ray and QuackerJack headed up to Mr. McGowan’s class (Kelly’s class) to sign autographs and take pictures. As an added surprise Mr. Bullock brought gift bags for each of the students in Kelly’s class courtesy of TD Bank.
Contestants were able to pick up applications from local TD Bank locations and write an essay on “Why my community is important to me”. Out of hundreds of essays received from all over the Island, four winners were selected. Each winner receives a visit from a Ducks player and Long Island’s most popular mascot, QuackerJack. The winners also receive a Visa gift card from TD Bank and each student in the winner’s class receives a gift bag, courtesy of TD Bank.
Following is a listing of the remaining essay contest winners and their scheduled visit dates:
