DUCKS VISIT LOCAL HOSPITALS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
QuackerJack and friends spread holiday cheer at local pediatric units
(Central Islip, N.Y., Dec. 22, 2011) – On Thursday, the Long Island Ducks capped off another successful Holiday Toy Drive by delivering hundreds of new, unwrapped gifts to the pediatric units at three Long Island hospitals. Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, North Shore LIJ/Southside Hospital, and Stony Brook University Medical Center all received visits on this special day.

The gifts were delivered by Long Island’s favorite mascot, QuackerJack, owner Buddy Harrelson, manager Kevin Baez, B-103's “The Wiseman,” and Ducks staff members to young patients at each location. The visits brought smiles to the faces of children and their parents, with many posing for pictures and giving high-fives along the way.
Each December, the Ducks host a month-long toy drive at the Waddle-In Shop for the holiday season. This year’s drive garnered an abundance of toys once again, so much so that the team will also be donating some to Christmas Magic, a not-for-profit organization which provides holiday generosity and spirit to those less fortunate. The Ducks would like to thank all who donated for making this one of the most successful toy drives in the team's 12-year history.
The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark in Central Islip, N.Y. The Ducks have led the Atlantic League in attendance for 12 consecutive seasons. For season ticket or advertising information, visit www.liducks.com or call 631-940-DUCK.
